Jax Taylor has attended an in-patient treatment clinic to improve his mental health. “Jax has always been open about his mental health struggles, particularly on his podcast in recent months,” a spokeswoman for The Valley said. The news was first reported on Tuesday, July 30.
The statement said, “He has decided to undergo inpatient therapy. This is a very emotional period for him and his family. They want privacy and respect until he is ready to talk more on this topic.
Taylor, 45, uploaded a photo of two books titled Get Out of Your Mind & Into Your Life and Set Boundaries, Find Peace on his Instagram Stories before entering the mental health institution, with the remark “Healing,” according to the report.
Taylor’s inpatient treatment coincides with his split from his former wife, Brittany Cartwright. Following a four-year marriage, the pair announced their split in February.
Cartwright, 35, said on her and Taylor’s joint podcast When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany that “Jax and I are taking time apart, and I made the decision to move into another home to take some space for the sake of my mental health.”
The couple originally met in Las Vegas in 2015, and their romance has been featured on Vanderpump Rules, its spinoff Jax and Brittany Take Kentucky, and most recently The Valley. They tied the wedding on June 29, 2019. Nearly two years later, on April 12, 2021, they welcomed their son, Cruz Michael Cauchi.
Following the announcement of the breakup, the first season of Taylor and Wright’s next Bravo series premiered. Taylor noted during the February premiere that the pair believed this was “best for their family” since they had “been going through some things for a while now.”
Cartwright said during the event that she felt “a little bit of relief” after parting from Taylor, adding that she “needed this space.”
On the May 31 edition of the When Reality Hits with Jax and Brittany podcast, Taylor recounted having lunch with model Paige Woolen, noting that he and Cartwright discussed “possibly, dating other people.”
“We are trying to exhaust everything before we have to go down the divorce road,” added the reality television personality, “if that would be the case.”
Days later, on June 4, The Valley’s season one finale aired. The episode flashed ahead six months to the weeks after Cartwright moved out of her and Taylor’s residence, and both of them expressed their feelings about their split.
“It’s been an amazing nine years,” Taylor said. “It really, really has. I don’t have any regrets. I adore Brittany. I adore my wife. “The only thing that will make or break this is time.” The Valley is currently shooting its second season. Season 1 is available to watch on Peacock.
